Jessie Moerk Nee Hogg

Biography

Jessie began to study fine art at the University in Regina, in Saskatchewan, Canada. She was most influenced by Art Mackay in drawing, who taught her to work in organic lines. He brought in live models for the drawing classes. Her painting teacher was Ted Goodwin and she studied pottery under Jack Sures.  The main influence on her style has been Chinese brush painting. She usually in the watercolor style with liquid paint- acrylics. The buildup is in the tradition of oil painting practice. The landscapes and human form images are from memory, sketches, photographs and imagination.
